I would constantly get sent home early so I never got my full about of hours on the schedule. I was hired for a full 40 hour work week but was lucky if I got 30. The actual bussers they had kept it all and they’d walk out with around $80 a shift.
Bussing the tables for the majority of the time fell on us and the manager refused to allow us to get tipped for it.
We were rarely thanked, and never compensated. As hostess, they had us running around everywhere and doing everyone else’s job. I was never given the opportunity even though they were desperate for staff at the time. In the 5 months I worked there, I talked to multiple managers and the bar manager about getting trained and the bar and general manager basically laughed in my face. I was hired as a hostess under the promise that I would be trained for bartending within a couple months.
